I’m Not A Feminist !!!
Do you know that investing into women run business as well as placing women in top position will impact the economy of Africa a great deal
Let me start by saying I’m not a feminist
I don’t believe women are weak vessel who need strength, I believe women have a great deal to plan in the growth of our economy and it should not be ignored. “There is no limit to what we,as a woman, can accomplish” -Michelle Obama.
If you can trust someone with domestic chores and they proved to have been excellent in it with great attention to details then to be faithful in little is to be faithful in much
“Men have single out women of outstanding merit and put them on a pedestal to avoid recognizing the capabilities of all women” -Huda Sha’arawi.
Do you know that billions are lost in our economy yearly because of gender inequality ? Why do you think this is one of the focus of the UN to ensure that this is tackled, it is not a pity party campaign but it is for the good of our economical growth
There are many key areas one can begin to focus on in other to tackle this that is in the area of employment. Let us start from the construction industry. Theconstruction industry see billions of dollars passed on yearly but unfortunately the percentage of women in the construction industry does not amount to even 50% well there is an imbalance already. Yet, do not be discourage nor give up. “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring in a folding chair” – Shirley Chisholm
It will be of the greater good of our economy if we begin to push more women into sector that have become male dominated as skills isn’t gender biased and the economy needs this change for us to get to the next level as studies have shown (When more women work, economies grow. Women’s economic empowerment boosts productivity, increases economic diversification and income equality in addition to other positive development outcomes. For example, increasing the female employment rates in OECD countries to match that of Sweden, could boost GDP by over USD 6 trillion. Thewomen have more economic power because they are more likely to reinvest to their families & society. “The seeds of success in every nation on earth are best planted in women.” -Joyce Banda
“Women belong in all place where decision are being made….it shouldn’t be that women are the exception.” – Ruth Bader Ginsburg. So let give them space and opportunities. “In future, there will be no female leaders, there will just be leaders.” – Sheryl Sandberg.
This article is not just to suggest that women should be employed into jobs but also to see that their businesses are invested into and more skills cultivated for women to present to Africa its full potential for the global good.
No matter where you are in life.
